Privacy

JustSober has no account, ads, or in-app analytics. The app does not send your sobriety history to a developer server.

What stays on your device

The app stores the start of tracking, the dates and times you record drinking, and local settings. It uses those records to derive the timer, calendar, and periods. It does not record consumption quantities or a journal.

System surfaces and authentication

Optional iOS widgets receive only the current timer start, a technical state token, version, and privacy mode. They do not receive your history. Android’s optional ongoing timer and optional anniversary alerts use local system notifications.

Standard system surfaces can show elapsed time. Discreet surfaces say “Timer running.” Notifications and widgets can be visible outside the app.

Privacy Lock is an optional screen gate. It does not encrypt stored data. Authentication uses your device’s own unlock system; the app receives the result, not your biometric data or passcode.

Backups and deletion

Apple or Google may include local app data and widget snapshots in device or cloud backups you enable. Those backups are governed by your operating-system settings and provider.

A manual export contains your sobriety history in a JSON file. You choose its destination through the system share sheet. JustSober does not receive that file. Treat it as private. Restoring a valid backup replaces your current history; a rejected file leaves your stored history unchanged.

Erase data in Settings removes the app’s current local records and resets its settings. Copies you exported or retained in operating-system backups are managed separately by you and the relevant provider. We cannot retrieve or remotely delete records that remain only on your device.

This website and external links

This static website uses no analytics, advertising scripts, forms, or cookies of its own. It is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process ordinary website request data, such as IP addresses, under its privacy statement.

The app opens privacy and safety links in your external browser without adding sobriety data to their URLs. Other websites have their own privacy practices.

For app and privacy questions: gtopbox@gmail.com. Do not send sobriety backups, medical details, or private screenshots.

If you choose to email support, your address and message are received in a Gmail mailbox so support can respond. Email is separate from the app; the app does not automatically attach records or backups. Contact support about access to or deletion of a message you have sent.

JustSober is intended for adults aged 18 and over. This page describes version 1.0. It will be updated if the app’s data handling changes.
